Thrilling Conclusion to the 2024 Irish Rallycross Championship
The 2024 Irish Rallycross Championship reached an exhilarating conclusion after six intense rounds, with Paul Pascoe achieving a remarkable 2nd place finish in the Super Modified A Championship, narrowly securing the position by just one point.
The race weekend kicked off on Thursday, with a thorough setup check and loading of the cars before heading to Mondello Park for a day of testing on Friday. Paul Pascoe drove his Escort Cosworth, while his father, Steve Pascoe, piloted the Sierra Cosworth. Both cars were in prime condition for what turned out to be the largest Rallycross gathering of the year, featuring over 100 cars from Ireland and Britain.
Competing in the Super Modified category, Paul's Escort Cosworth faced fierce competition. Despite a puncture that resulted in a damaged wheel and shock absorber, Paul finished 5th in class, securing his 2nd place championship finish. Steve Pascoe, making his debut in the Sierra Cosworth, had a strong showing in the Retro category, qualifying 4th for the final and finishing 6th overall.
The weekend was a testament to the dedication and skill of the Pascoe family and their team, highlighting a season of hard-fought battles and remarkable achievements.
