Another podium for the Pascoe’s in the Rallycross Championships

The team set off to Pembrey Circuit in South Wales for rounds 5 & 6 of the 5 Nations British Rallycross Super Retro Championship with high hopes following an encouraging weekend in Ireland back in June. The Bunclody Motors Rallycross Team were providing support for the double header weekend.Saturday the team concentrated on set up work on the revamped Sierra Cosworth now using a new 500 + BHP engine built by Tommy Field. Paul led the first race from Pole Position until the race was stopped due to an incident. The team continued to work on the car throughout the day eventually claiming 4 th position in the standing’sSunday was a damp start to the day with the rain clearing in time for the first heats. Heat 1 Paul got away well and into second place and kept the place to the end of the race pushing the championship leader hard for the lead. Heat 2 was the same finishing order, the front 2 pulling clear of the field. Heat 3 Paul took the lead into the first corner eventually finishing second again bringing the car home with a punctured front wheel. Spirits where high as a trio of second place finishes in the heats put us on the front row for the final. A full grid of cars lined up for the final Paul brought the car home in third place to claim another podium, the first for the Sierra since its rebuild. This now means Paul is 3rd in the overall championship.
